Using Flatworm exit.

Killed a 6 year old blue and 5 year old wild caught yellow tang in 30 minutes.

While it was not directly the treatment, it killed the flatworms who when dying, were mistaken as food floating in the column.

Toxicity was huge.
Thats awful. I would've been devastated 💔

That’s crazy! I had never even thought about that when using FWE. I just treated my tank not too long ago.

My biggest regret was believing that Red Sea makes consistently good devices and that having everything in one app would be convenient. So, I went all in and bought everything: lights, wave pumps, return pump, and skimmer.

The skimmer was AC at first, so I had to buy the DC upgrade kit.

And guess what? )))

I ended up replacing the lights first because I couldn’t achieve the coral colors I wanted.

Then I swapped out the flow pumps because the ReefWave clogs too quickly, stops delivering acceptable flow, and needs cleaning at least every two weeks. And cleaning them isn’t as easy as advertised.

After that, I got a new skimmer because I couldn’t tune the Red Sea one properly for over six months—it was either too wet or didn’t produce any skimmate at all.

Now I’m about to replace the return pump—just so I can finally have both the return and flow pumps managed in one app :)

Trying to fix everything. Fish diseases and water parameters. The problem might be you. So step back and be patient.

dropping PO4 too fast using Phosphate E. My 2 favorite SPS colony dies within 4 days.

Pretty much what @jgsolo32 said - chasing perfect parameters. When I first started I would always make micro-adjustments that would just cause more instability. Realizing that these constant fluctuations are much worse than slightly imperfect parameters that are STABLE was definitely a game changer.

Not making my peninsula 48” wide instead of the 36” it is. While I love my setup, I would have liked to have an additional 4 halides.

While, this falls under the “it is what it is category, I had to run a new 150 amp panel box for my fishroom and tank. After you install a in wall 2,200 sq ft dehumidifier, Mini Split and next weeks present is a huge chiller, the electric bill has really crept up. I guess my regret is, kidding myself when I said I was consolidating 2 tanks (total volume 190g) and the incremental electric bill amount, will be small and not meaningful in terms of impactful. Well, when I swap out the frag tangs next weekend, my total system will be just under 700g and I didn’t have a fish room before. So, perhaps the incremental usage could be looked at as meaningful if the wife found the bill, lol. I just need to get to November. This way the comps will look in line with LY, lol.

I kept on reading that I had to reduce my phosphates to reduce algae, so I thought to myself 'great, I'll just slowly reduce my phosphates down to zero and that will get rid of my algae issues'... and that's how I got dinos

Buying the 3 lb Spotted Grouper back when I started the hobby in ‘86. It ate better than I did and must have really enjoyed biting me. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

My biggest mistake was getting a 3 Stripe Damsel for my first fish, I thought it was pretty and didn't know it would be a terror.
I'm lucky It gets along with my two Clownfish but It bites me, throws my macroalgae frags around and killed another fish I added. Probably going to get another tank just for it, Seeing how I'm kinda stuck with it until it dies and I would like to add other fish.
