In October I got back into this hobby and what a fun ride it has been! This is my set up the day I added my sand and live rock. The rock came from a friend’s sump that he had in his dental office. He owed me, as years ago I would frag my LPS, when they got to big and would give them to him.

Great that you are back into the hobby. Do you feel the 32 is big enough? I know having a larger tank means a lot more commitment but can rewarding. When are you going to add fish? Tell us more!
I would have loved to but I have limited space. A larger tank would have been a harder sell to the Mrs. but who knows what the future holds. I previously had multiple tanks over 14 years. I got a hitchhiker that I couldn’t get anyone to ID. It grew faster than I could remove it and it choked out my corals and looked awful. I intended to get back in but life happens, kids were young.

I dipped my toe into alps at the end of December. I kinda got torch fever after the purchase, it wasn’t going to be my last.

I purchased my first urchin, Royal Tuxedo, and what a work horse! He has managed to take my blue mushroom fore a ride 3 times as well as my Rasta frag even though they were glued down.

After going back and forth, I decided on this Valentine open brain as my center piece

I think I’ve finished my zoa garden, but I’ve thought that before. I need to practice patience and let it grow out.

Standard leds that come with the Biocube 32.
Those stock LED's can take you a long way. I have seen some success with the BC lights with birdsnest in the past in other builds, ill be interested to see how this one grows in your reef.

Cheers,

B-Kind

This is the birdnest today as compared to when I first got it. The growth is kinda shocking. I’ll have to do some fragging by the end of the year. Cheers

Geez, i guess that answers the question on whether the Birdsnest would be happy up there. Looking good, gotta love the sunrise/sunset lights for photos!

Kinda what i was picturing what my tank would look like in 10 months when I was staring at my tank with just rock and water. It’s such a fun ride.

Wow totally forgot to post a 1 year photo. Its is actually over 13 months. Still have some spaces to fill in but I’m being picky. I have fragged half my birdsnest ( it needs done again), two heads of my NY Knicks Torch, two heads of my orange tipped frogspawn and my gsp to free up some real estate.
