full acrylic tops? no way ,will bow even at 1/2"

So just focusing on the right side for a minute. below I have colored the acrylic strips in orange. and marked the approximate location of the clips. each piece of acrylic is about 20" Lx3.5W. You think this will bow?

Because of the glued joints (and the weir), you may want the lid to sit on-top of the tank and just glue little guides to the undersides of the acrylic. That has other problem in that then condensation may leak over onto the front of the glass.

maybe glue tabs to the outer rim of the lids to rest ontop of the tank but the lids would be the same size as if you got plastic tabs?

also, is the inside depth and width less then 4' to account for glass thickness and joints?
