I have been sick and in the hospital for almost a year. I am recovering and on LTD from work. My daughter knew I had a FOWLR tank a decade ago and bought me a BioCube32 to occupy my time. I dove into the hobby after seeing a post on R2R related to reefing for therapy. I watched BRS TV and TG videos, took an online class from ReefBum, read R2R threads and even helped out a LFS that specializes in coral. Recently I have been following Ryan on Serious Reefs. I have binders full of notes and Excel files full of print screens from online websites. I studied the hobby and it kept me busy and my mind focused. I have three BioCube32s now and building a 15 gallon IM tank with red mangroves/gorgonians. Attached is a picture of my second BioCube. Just like everyone else I have plans for a much bigger tank. But I took a moment this evening to enjoy my coral tank. Thanks to everyone in the reefing community that directly/indirectly helped me recover.

So great you found reefing a form of therapy in less than perfect times. I use it as therapy daily to relax from the world, while enjoying a nice cold beer. 😆
That is one awesome Biocube!

Attached is picture of the first BioCube my daughter bought for me. FOWRL. I was on dialysis when I built. I know I have turf algae to address. The family had a lot of fun with this tank as the two clown fish mated. Two blue hermit crabs also had babies and somehow found little shells for homes. Lots of other stories.

Beautiful tank OP! If you get the time to tell us more on the tank setup, and stock list im sure many of us would be happy to learn more about your tank.

I actually setup my tank in March 2024 for similar reasons after being out of the game since 2017. A few months prior I was really struggling mentally with stress and anxiety. Overwhelm, health scare etc.

I think it really helped me focus some energy elsewhere and not on myself. Im a much better version of myself now. And im really enjoying my tank these days! Therapy tanks for the win.
