Hello all,
My coral guy gave me a free 1” frag of Birds of Paradise. Never kept an SPS before and wondering what some tips on care for it would be.

I under stand BOP is a higher light/flow variety of Birdsnest so I have it high in my tank. My Alk is 8.3, Ca 430, Mg 1350, No3 10, Po4 0.03, Sg 1.025.

How fast will this coral grow? I hear it’s a fast grower but nobody mentions an actual growth rate. Im certain it’s different per system. Just worried about it becoming an Alk hog like a hollywood stunner or something.

Thank you!

Not sure about actual rate in inches or mass but it will be a very fast grower when it settles in.

In the early stages of my reef it didn’t do well in very high light and I eventually put in the bottom of my tank where it took off. It definitely can tolerate lower light. Once the reef matured it grows pretty quickly. But I was frustrated with it initially.
