So i have decided not to go with the BK due to the reviews of the gen 1 BKM 200. I'm sure its not bad, but its not great either, and not warranty etc.

Now i just need to decide if its the Octo XP-2000 cone or the SRO-3000.... same price except the 3000 has the bigger pump. I will probably go with the 3000 for that reason, that and with a bigger body there is more reaction time and the 3000 has a cone top etc....

Looks like i made my decision. Cant go wrong with either i'm sure.

I wouldnt limit myself just to BK or the SRO. You might want to check out the new SWC line coming out which will include a new 230 Cone that will be run by an Askoll
pump.

I decided to go with the SRO 3000 for the price, pump, and reviews.... and bought it sooner than planned because the sicce 2500 i have running my current skimmer sheared off the nub on the inside of the PPW and doesnt work anymore..... so the skimmer will arive on wed and we'll see how it goes from there.

The guys at petstore.com were great about replacing the pinwheel and magnet on the pump at no cost.... great customer service always surprises me these days.

Just got the skimmer and hooked it up. This thing is a BEAST. The pump is totally silent and fills the skimmer body completely with micro bubbles. Excellent skimmer, excellent price, excellent warranty. It has already built up a head of foam at the top and overflowing gunk into the cup.

Thanks for the excellent advice mojo!

no problem Glad you are happy with your purchase.
