I live in Baltimore, MD. My tank is a 29gal Mano sps. The small urchin I bought about 6 months ago as a juvenile is now a large adult. I thought I had way more time. I thought I would want a larger tank before it matured...I did not and do not. So if anyone has a more suitable tank in the Baltimore area, and you want an urchin just let me know and it’s yours. I would just need you to pick it up. I have proper packing boxes, liners, etc but no oxygen, so I can’t ship. I can’t take it to the LFS bc there isn’t one in Baltimore. Well, not if you have a broken knee and no car anyway.

Yep. Long spine urchins grow fast. All urchins act as bull dozer in a reef tank. I recall during early offshore career, collecting dozens of long spine & pencil urchins from surface of 30’ diameter horizontal columns used to float a semi submersible drilling rig.

Yeah. It’s my fault for sure! I knew a lot about them except the part about warm-water varieties grow faster. Determined to get him a new home by week’s end

My tanks are heavy with ornamental macros, so no urchins, which will also bleach rock of Coraline algae.
