Hello everyone!

This is my first build thread, and I'm excited to be doing it with a custom 76 gallon, 3-sided Starphire Glass tank.

The tank was build by Visio, using 1/2" Starphire glass on the front and side panels. It was drilled for a Synergy Ghost Overflow and for two 3/4" returns.

The stand was built from a local stand builder.

Here's the current equipment list along with some photos!

-Tank: Custom 76G. 42"L X 21"D X 20"H ,Paired with a Synergy Ghost Overflow system

-Stand: Custom plywood construction and stained

-Sump: Trigger Ruby Sump 30

-Plumbing: SCH 80 fittings with all Spears gate valves, Red PVC & George Fischer Wye check valves

-Circulation Pumps: (2) MP40WQD's

-Return Pump: Undecided currently. Most likely a Ecotech Vectra L1 or a Reef Octopus VarioS-8 (Still needs to be purchased)

-Protein Skimmer: Undecided Currently. Most likely a Vertex Omega 180i. (Still needs to be purchased)

-Controller: Neptune Apex Classic or WiFi model. (Still needs to be purchased)

Got some pieces of the build in today from BRS! Next on the list of things to order is an Ecotech Vectra L1 so I can fully plumb the tank, leak test & then start cycling the tank.

I've got some Emarco Mix as well as prime cuts on its way as well to finish my dry rock collection. I'll be Acid Washing all my pukani and Emarco rock before cementing together my final aquascape.

Also picked up an MP40wQD and got a total of 90lbs of Tropical Eden Reeflakes this past week.

Now for some pictures!

The return pump came in last night. It's been a slow build with how busy my work schedule has been lately and I'm currently prepping for my first powerlifting meet so all my current focus is with that.

In about three weeks this build will really start moving forward! But for now I'll post updates as them come along.

That a whole lot of pump for a 76g. I was thinking a M1 on my 75g . Y did you go with the L1 ?

I went with the L1 just because I'm the king of over kill, honestly. And for the sake of my upgrading eventually down the line this will be plenty. And for the fact I'd be able to run it at half power with a manifold.

Impatiently awaiting the aquascape.

Recently washed my dry rock in a light acid bath. Going to let everything dry for a few days and then start with my scape.

I've really got to get under my house to reinforce my subfloor for this tank so once the rock work is done I can plumb it, fill it and start cycling.

Currently debating on lighting as well. Between a 36" ATI 8-Bulb Hybrid Powermodule, (2) Radion Gen4 Pro XR30's, or a 36" ATI Sunpower with dual 36" Reefbrite strips. Going to be 95% Acros, T5's are tried and true but I'd love to be able to get the same results with the new radions.

Thoughts?

Looking good!

Pump doesn't match, that would drive me nuts lol

Tell me about it. Almost went with the Reef Octopus Varios line of return pumps but couldn't find much info on them. I've owned this pump before and it's really really nice. The lack of color matching does drive me insane though.
