SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon nigropunctatus

COMMON NAME: Blackspotted Butterflyfish

SIZE: 5†(13 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 55 US Gal (208 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Accepts a variety of aquarium foods, including finely chopped seafood and frozen preparations, but also feeds on benthic invertebrates and stony coral polyps.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: Not recommended.

CAPTIVE CARE: The Blackspotted Butterflyfish should be provided with adequate swimming room, several hiding places, and peaceful tank mates. Only keep one per tank unless a proven pair is available and make sure the specimen is feeding prior to purchase.
