Hello everyone,

I've recently received this o.g bounce today. It's not looking so good. I would like to know if anyone haves a personal experience with this same issue. Below is a picture of it. I did the best I could to get a good pic. There is one bubble on top that is starting to look normal. Then the rest of it is gray dots on a blue body. I place it in the tank around 2 hours ago. The gray areas show no signs of bouncing back like the big bubble. So at this point my hands are in the air. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to R2R

From the looks of it, seems like a little baby and also looks like you are pounding it with a lot of light. Move it to a corner or a section in your tank were it would not be getting blasted with light and see if it will recover.

It's doing ok I guess, it just needs time to heal. The thing looked freshly cut. I did adjust the lights, mainly white. Also had my flow cut off this hole time. It started thriving and now it's just a hit and a miss on how it looks. In my defense my rainbow yumas are mid section and thrive. So I thought it would be alright in the light and spot I originally had it. I will post a update in a week or so.

Update,

Unfortunately half of it decided to melt. I really didn't want to do this but I sliced off the section that had no chance to prevent any infection or anything weird. I don't know if that was bad but I did it. I did take the piece I sliced off and put it in a red shot glass(for the price I paid for it, one have to be st***d not to try). I was going to throw it out Bec it had brown stuff on it. Fortunately, mushrooms don't get brown jelly disease. I don't think it haves a chance. But I'm optimistic. Will keep posting updates tell it completely melts. Will update the piece of "frag" as well.

The only problem I can think of is having the flow cut off. Only flow I had was from the filter return that I had angled at the glass to cut flow as much as possible. Adjusting the lights could have been the another issue. I would like to know. Also I have cleaner shrimp. Maybe they disturb it enough to do that. Only reason I say that is Bec it looks fine. Even after slicing it, it looks fine. Other then the melted piece that was sliced off. To prevent that possible cause. I'm going to to cover it with a net at night.

It's been about a hour after cutting the melted piece off. Looks puffed up and still haves color only problem is that it's starting to expell more drown stuff from the side I sliced off. I worried that it's just going to keep doing this tell it's completely melts. Who knows, like I said I'll keep posting tell it melts all the way.

The original photo has to much blue light. so I used my phone app to spunk up the white more. It's the best photo I can get. As you can see it looks fine. So I'm going to assume it was a cleaner shrimp. I did feed my corals some roids yesterday. Who knows, it's just a possibility

It's been a few hours,

I removed the baby from the red shot glass just a little bit ago. I didn't want to risk it not having enough light. I placed it in a amber color cup. I then placed it under my frag rack to keep shaded a bit more.

Will update when needed.
