using a kessil a80 tuna blue at 50% intensity for a 40cm cube

Why is your light at 50%? Thats only a 15 watt light. I don't think your light is strong enough and you have it turned down 50%

isnt it decent for lps n softies and my tank isnt that big either so im not sure. Im thinking of renting a par meter soon

if yall dont mind cld u guys share yalls opinions on this since im a beginner

i also got it cos i read online that its a good light for nano tanks
Nano tanks range from 5 gallons up to 30 gallons, it is a huge range so it depends on your tank size. What kind of tank do you have?

ok, so you have a 16 gallon tank (its easier for me to think in gallons). I have a 15 gallon tank with a 55 watt light set at 85%. So I'm sorry but I think the light is a little under powered. I found this thread for you that might give you more info. Good luck

thanks for the info and i also ordered a danoplus par meter arriving in a week or so, hopefully that can help me narrow it down

i read the thread and its good info but nems also have higher light requirements than lps n softies so i still dont have a definitive answer on the whether my lighting is sufficient. Only way to get a definitive answer is just to wait for my par meter to arrive ig

I was recently using a 50 watt over a larger tank than yours running at 40%. I have hammers. They need more light. Please increase the lights percentage of blues to at least 75, or better yet 80.
