Today I noticed a white film/blotch on my blenny's mouth. He was opening his mouth quite a bit and it seemed like there was a thin translucent white film attached to his upper and lower jaw. I don't really know how else to explain it. I got a picture of him with his mouth closed and it looks like there's a white blotch on his lip. Has anyone seen this before? He's been in my tank 4 days and I didn't notice this white thing on his mouth until today.

As they are known to peck and even hammer rocks in search of calcium, I suspect mouth injury and possible mouth rot. Best recourse is to place in quarantine and treat with seachem Kanaplex. Add aeration during treatment

Is it just on the right side?
Is the fish still eating well?
Is it breathing normally?

Yes, it's just on the right side from what I can tell. He's eating normally. His breathing seems faster than usual when I noticed him opening and closing his mouth over and over again. But now he's acting normal.
