I bought two blood orange clowns in November. They quickly paired up although aren’t always together? I lately realized that the male has been fanning out a spot on a rock. Do you know if it’s possible for them to spawn if their hybrids? Will the eggs just not hatch?

They very well could spawn and their eggs could develop to fry, but if not in their own tank for breeding, mostly likely won't survive unfortunately.

Cleaning a spot on rock is the first sign of getting ready to lay eggs, and they can hatch and live for a little bit, but unless they are in a specific tank w/ live rotifers ready to eat they won't last long.
It takes a bit to raise fry, most of us just enjoy the free healthy fish food
