Blue legged hermit

Do hermit crabs molt? I found crab legs floating on the sand bed this morning. If not, then I got a dead crab.

They do molt so he’s not dead, unless there was flesh with those legs.

I agree its probably just a molt. When in doubt you can always do the sniff test..;Yuck but I warn you if it is dead you will not be able to get that smell out of your nose for awhile.

There’s no flesh so he must’ve just molted. And thanks but no thanks I’ll pass on the sniff test! [emoji886]
