So got a blue spotted puffer 1 week ago with a midas blenny. they have been in a 20L QT tank at 78 degrees. i did use copper power to 2.25. The puffer seems to have a skin issue or maybe the copper is harsh on him. They are eating every time i feed. The midas is shy but the puffer will go anywhere for food.
No other signs of issues besides the skin not looking great.

Do yall think this is just the copper and it will clear up after display tank is ready

Looks like a bacterial issue or skin reaction. Best treatment will be seachem Kanaplex or tri-sulfa

Neither will address this and CP is for parasites and Prazi for worms and flukes

They can be mixed- just
assure good water quality with a reliable test kit and add aeration with air stone
Should i remove the copper water thru water changes before i do one of the options above?

Thanks dude. The qt has a wave maker. A sponge filter and a aquamax hang on back. I will be checking levels with hanna instruments and red sea test kits.
Found some kanaplex in town

Do not. I often see it overdosed causing further issues. It will be absorbed by fish as it is

Kinda off topic, but that doesn't appear to be an actual blue spotted toby. The true blue spotted tobies (Canthigaster solandri or papua) have a lot more, well, spots on their flanks. Yours seems to be mostly stripes, which leads me to think it's actually a fingerprint toby, C. compressa. I was actually sent two of those by a certain online shipper trying to pass them off as leopards lol. Still a cool species, and a lot less common at that.

yea i was wondering why the one at the other store had alot more spots and blue but i figured its the bacteria or whatnot causing it. googling the compressa they seems to have that skin pattern

Here's a picture of one of the ones I received as a "leopard toby." Sent this to that company asking if anyone over there had access to google and a pair of eyes. They were still a cool tobies, there are no uncool tobies, but a far stretch from the species I ordered.

Don't get me wrong, fingerprints are still beautiful tobies. They have almost as much blue on them as a solandri or papua, but it's all stripes instead of spots. I found that their comfort level dictates how well they show that compared to the blue spots.
