I bought a blue linckia starfish around 1.3 years ago now. The LFS did not advise how big it was in advance but I can confirm, it is a big specimen. Perhaps 10" from finger to finger.

Now what I read is that these starfish are difficult to look after. I tend to disagree. This beauty has survived much more than I could imagine.

Does anyone else find them easy to look after?

The dietary needs of most exhinoderms, such as the blue linkia, are not well understood. That is why most reefers struggle with them, because there is no reliable care guide for them.
Its great that you have had success with yours but these starfish have an abysmal mortality rate in captivity, I know of one r2r member who has had one for over 2 years, cant remember their username atm, otherwise I would tag them.
@ISpeakForTheSeas and @Lavey29 may have more input on starfish.

Not easy to get a good photo haha

I have had a blue one for over a year. I also have a red one that I have had for about 6 months. I just posted about them the other day :)

I have heard that they eat bio films and other things that are found in mature reef systems. My tank has been running for more than 15 years. I have never seen them eat anything.. but they seem happy and are active.
