Going on about 11years for my blue tang

He is in 180g aquarium

No aggression, no restless swimmig that i would say, about 7”-8” long would say

When do i need to worry about a rehome-are there signs i should be watching out for?

Have no desire to relocate but want to always do generally whats best for livestock

I might consider a rehome if you find a REALLY good one. Otherwise, I would keep it.

If you are near a major metro area, the locals can probably recommend somebody who maintains larger tanks who is really good. I have given to a restaurant tank around 10k gallons and also a children's hospital with about 1500 and I would see my fish there years later, so that made me happy.

You can also find good hobbyists with large tanks who will take fish.

11 years? You do not need to rehome that fish, not even close. It's very much fully grown. I'd only start thinking about it if it topped 12", assuming this is a 6x2 tank. (Length + width) / 8 = maximum size of a fish in a given tank, that's the formula. You do not need to worry about rehoming, sounds like you have a great home for your tang.

Generally, when tangs outgrow their tanks they will show certain behaviors:
'Pacing'
or surf the glass
or become really aggressive
or start knocking stuff over.

That said, regals mostly don't act like other tangs.

Anyway, at 11 years and mostly grown, and it's acting fine. Nice job. I'd let it be.

Any pictures of the regal? An 8" yellow bellow regal would be an awesome specimen.
