What fish shouldn't be with a Blue Throat trigger? 120 DT, well established currently fish only.
My previous triggers were not fast growers and this guy at my LFS is healthy and eating, about 1.5" long.
I'm intentionally not saying whats in the tank now so I don't skew the responses but he'll be the only trigger.
I've had SW tanks for 3 decades but I didn't take decent notes. :(
tks.

i had a sargassum trigger with a pretty decent mix of fish without any issues. it's their interest in munching inverts is what keeps them from being designated "reef safe".

My blue throat pretty much minds his own business and does not bully any of my other fish. He seems to get along fine with everyone (clownfish pair, midas blennies, purple tang, blue hippo, Tomini, Rabbitfish, various wrasses, CUC, etc.).

My Blue Throat is a model citizen. Doesn't bother anyone but not shy when going for food.

I had a Blue Jaw Trigger before and he never had any aggression issue with any other fish. He would occasionally pick at a crab or snail, but he never really ate them too much.

Forgot to mention I don't have any cleaner crew or inverts.
Lots of triggers in the past and had my Undulate trigger bite me!
The rest were model citizens except a Niger who jumped out and had to have CPR, he hid for 3 days and lived for 7 years after that.

An undulated trigger is in a different world than a blue throat. Blue throats are plankton eaters. They are safe with basically anything.

Blue throat trigger is one of the least aggressive type of triggers. Any fish that's reasonable to go into a big fish FOWLR tank will be fine.

In a 120 gallon? What are the dimensions? There are some really big and active fish on that list.

Not to hijack thread... but was wondering. I have a 200 gal mixed reef. I do have several hermits, a sally light foot, a pistol shrimp and two large cleaner shrimp. Would they all be lunch if I added a small Blue jaw trigger?

Mine does not bother my cleaner shrimp, snails, or hermits so I think it would be OK.

My LFS, I didn't want a tank that was drilled and the supply chain was an issue. He manged to get what I needed in a couple weeks. Visio is the brand, it's all he carry's and has forever. It's what they use in the store.
So Far so good. Was a bit over 4 bills.
