Retailer says min. of 55 gallons... I would add it last and of course get a juvenile, but is 75 really enough?

I don't think so. Live Aquaria lists minimum as a 125 (6' long tank), and I would say that is accurate. They are big time swimmers, and actually need more room than Tangs inch for inch IMO.

i would say depends on the size, as long as you know as certain size he well have to be upgrade to a larger tank.
i had a pair in a 65 gallon tank for almost a year. now they are in my big tank.

I have one in my 90 and he seems to have plenty of room. 6' tank makes sense though.
