Bluethroat Triggerfish Super Sensitive

Hi there

I added a stunning Bluethroat Triggerfish t my reef around 3 weeks ago and has been eating really well. However the past few days he has been hiding whenever my TV is on or if i am close to the glass of my tank. Has anyone encountered this before and if so what can be done to help this situation?

My Bluethroat hid for an entire week after I put him into my reef. And this was after spending 30 days in QT. They tend to do that when they're new, but in time he will swim out in the open and eat aggressively (so long as he's not being bullied).

Thankyou for the response.... he has been fantastic but shy since adding him three weeks ago he has been eating brine, Mysis and flake no issues and he has been eating when my Tv isn't on. I will obviously keep my Tv on when watching I am just hoping he adapts to this. As far as I can see I am 99% sure he isn't being bullied he is just easily startled

Happy to help. So long as he isn't being bullied, he will become less and less shy in time. Mine is always out swimming and eats like a pig, but it took a bit of time to get there.
