I have this Regal Angel 2 days ago and is in my QT. It seems to have some kind of flesh wound. I can see it looks like a cut. Since this is a QT tank, I have stressguard in it and am wondering if there’s any other meds I should use to help him heal faster or better. He ate on the first day but no longer eat today. But he did swim close to the food for some while. I got a feeling it will get worse.

I had fish died due to body wound gotten serious after 7-8 days and they no longer ate. Is there anything I could have done better to help him heal for sure?

While I'm not well versed in this sort of issue (yet), I do have a confirmation request. You say you have Stressguard in the water column.....What is your QT Protocol? Do you buy your fish prequaranteed and use the QT for observation? Or do you run a more standard QT, using different antibiotics (et. al.) to ensure a measure of healthiness prior to delivering your livestock to the DT?

Thanks for your responses. It turned out to be a body wound as the scab came off after 3 days. Now the body is healed.

However I lost 1 of the 4 Regals Angels I bought last Thursday. Copper Power was dosed at 2.2 ppm on the 4th day I got them. They were starting to eat Hikari pellets slowly on the 2nd day. and I dosed Metroplex and Kanaplex ( to prevent secondary infection) when I saw that wound.

One of them stopped eating (not the one with wound) and died the next day. I am guessing he has some other underlying problems and the meds stressed him out.

Here’s the other 3 and I am feeding them Selcon soaked pellets. Wish me luck! I will add them all 3 together to my 180g after 2-3 weeks.
