Botrocladyia

Considering getting some Botrocladyia this weekend. Someone on here recommended it to me but I’d like some more opinions.
13.5 gallon tank, running since early October. 1 YWG. 2 clowns. 1 purple firefish. 1 turbo snail. 3 hermit crabs. 1 nassarius snail. Soon to be: 1 peppermint pistol shrimp.
Just looking for some color and variety in the tank. I need a slow growing plant due to the size of my tank. Any other recommendations? Is my tank too new for this?
PS… is there a forum for plants and/or non fish posts? I guess for inverts. I know there’s the hitchhiker forum but more for questions and not for IDs.

Unfortunately, the turbo snail will probably decimate the Botrycladia. I don't know if mine ate the Botry or not, but it definitely knocked it completely over and broke the stem several times. I've only had success with Codium and pom pom Gracilaria with a turbo snail--I also make sure the turbo stays fed when there's no other algae to eat.

My turbo seems to like the walls more than my rocks. He’s a fat and happy fellow.
How easy are the Pom Pom gracilaria and codium to care for compared to the botrycladia?

Easiest in my experience. I've had Caulerpa prolifera grow more rapidly, but it was harder to manage. Codium is easy to manage and can be tucked into a shadier corner of the tank. There are colder water species of Codium, but the Codium I got from ReefCleaners ("dwarf", I think), and another specimen I got from a local all grow very nicely in my tanks. Pom Pom can handle higher light and grows nice and bushy. Trimming it can be more challenging because cutting it results in loads of little cut pieces that fly around since it twists and folds over on itself so many time. Very easy to grow.
