Bounce mushroom split 3ways

It used to be one big shroom but a few weeks ago it started splitting now it's like 3 individual mushrooms it looks like it's healing now. Why did this happens I know 3 is better than one but I want to know why last Pic is before

Happened to me also.
Only it was the tuxedo urchin split it and took have of it for a ride.
