Can I put brain corals close together

Depends what corals. The term brain coral is a generic term. It covers maybe a dozen different coral groups. Generally only corals of the same family species can be near each other. Even this is not always the case. Pictures will help, if favia type not all favias will get along same is true for lobos. Tracy's are ok. Or side in caution and keep at least 4-6" apart.
