Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Glad everyone is okay. I had a Blazer catch fire in the Bronx River Pkwy years ago. People pulled along me and were yelling, “you’re on fire! You’re on fire!” My whole bottom was engulfed in flames.

The bottom of the blazer ??? Correct??

I have a CPR bak pak I was given for free, needs a pump. Are there any mods for the CPR bak pak? What media should be ran in it and where? Do I run the heater in it too? I swear I saw somewhere a video or thread of someone running an air stone in there's to help it boost the fine micro bubbles needed to skim? Is the MJ1200 the correct pump?[/USER]

I've heard of people using a wood air stone to help with the bubbles but I never needed to do that when I had it installed on my 40 breeder. Let me go out to the garage later and see what my pump is on mine. I honestly do not remember! As for other mods I didn't really do any either. I didn't use the filter media so it was bare / clean. I put the heater in the chamber the return / outtake is. I made sure it was not against the acrylic and it seemed to keep my temp ok. Other than that the only real mod I can say is making a manifold if you will to quiet it down.

I took a older prescription bottle, drilled a hole in the center of the cap and bottom just enough to fit the tubing on that connects to the pump intake. Thread through top of cap - just enough say maybe 1" or so. Again thread other half through bottom. Add cotton balls into the bottle, replace lid. The idea is that the main tube connecting to the power head / skimmer intake enters the bottom of the bottle. Cotton suppresses the sound, lid has about 3 inches of tubing with a 1" inside and 2" outside - acts like a muffler on a car. That helped a lot for me.

I have covered a sucking chest wound with duct tape and a ziploc.

I was lucky enough to volunteer with some combat vets that taught me to work on the fly.
