Is that a lovely aiptasia I see under your leather??

maybe... it's always been there and I always just thought it was a pest coral.. lol. But there are a few of those on differnt coral plugs that I have bought. what do they do?

Yea first I would remove that anemone and any that look like it. They are a pest and have the capability of spreading like fire, not your normal everyday flame either, dry windy Arizona fire. Step 2 would be to leave the leather alone. Leathers and toadstools can close up for weeks at a time due to a few reasons, poor water quality, poor lighting, changes in flow/lighting. The most common though is the coral is shedding. This is how they become bigger. I would leave it be and make sure it is getting a fair bit amount of flow. If it starts to turn black, I would remove it from the tank as it will be decaying

any other opinions on this??
Nope. Bad guy. Look it up on the forum. Several methods of removal. I use a razor blade. Don't do it in your tank. Rinse with rodi after removal.

so your saying that what's under my toadstool is an anemone and could be harming it? because there's literally like 5 of those in my tank... one to a few in the GSP a one on 1 of my zoas.. the bullseye ones. ughh

Yes

A peppermint shrimp or 2 will take care of them for you. But they can also on occasion, take a liking to LPS. Euphyillia,Plates and Acans to be specific

I mean it's an aiptasia... I looked up the pics and that's what it is. Are those what your talking about?
