Hi all !
Happy Friday.
So i have a 200litre tank. 55g.
Started it on 21st August 3 weeks ago with live sand and live rock.
Set up 2 power heads.
Fluval 407 cannister added better media
Tunze protien skimmer
Uv sterilizer the lean mean green killer
Red sea reefer 90 led
My tank cycled in about 2 weeks. After various water checks. Master test kit used.
I got brown diatoms after afew days. I currently have 6 chromis doing great feeding away started with 2 now 6. I added 2 mexican turbo snails to clear help clear the diatoms and they did just that. Added a sand shifter blenny and cleaner shrimp yesterday. Mind you thought it died via powerhead but its molt thankfully.
But the last few days the water is green i mean like the hulk! It seems to radiate from the rocks. Yet at night the tank is crystal clear! So after research i got the uv kit and after a day it has certainly helped.
My question is when or how much of a water change should i do ? I tested water this am. 1.026 for salt. Ph 8. Nitrates nitrite and ammonia all zero.
Should i wait until the green clears then change ? I have read that a water change could make it worse?
Do i have enough of a cleaner crew ? Should i add more ?
THANKS!
