So... I setup a new pico tank with dry everything and have not added or touched anything between my main established tank, QT, and this pico.

It’s been running with saltwater in it for about a month and all I’ve done is top off.

I used dry sand from Tropic Eden, and the Marco nano shelf dry rock for the scape. The heater and algae magnet were old, but have been dry in storage for at least a year and the pump I used is brand new. I always rinse my Hanna salinity checker in freshwater and let it dry out between uses.

I looked in the tank today and saw little white particles on the glass. I’ve been doing this for a while so I know copepods when I see them. They are definitely crawling around and are everywhere!

How did this new life make it into my tank? I just can’t seem to brainstorm on my own how that would be possible.

Immaculate conception? Very biblical... haha.
