Break down of tank setups

Seeing tons of advice and how unique each setup is, I think if we can combine all the builds, maintenance and dosing, equipment and settings as well as stock and other information into a sheet, we can pull similarities and data together to find the balances of why 2 tanks taken care of completely opposite of each other, are both successful.

I will try to work on a sheet the rest of this week in Google sheets. I want to capture as much data in an organized way. Things and information will need to be added as we go and would like to have help as it grows organize the data. We can pull data to show trends and commonalities. I don't know how many people would actually be interested in this idea though.

I have started the initial setup. currently I welcome anyone to assist with populating the sheet and adding tabs. We/I can always go back and adjust and arrange things to break out more as needed. but this gets a general idea. this will be a slow work in progress.

That's a serious undertaking.

So like one thread for members that use Mps. The member then links their build thread in the comments?
Or members that use LED, link to tank thread in comments?
How specific do you want to be? So many variables.
All tanks bigger than 150 gallons?

I would say individuals can provide or add themselves. Preferably add unless I have others helping lol.

I am thinking more simple of just having columns and recording across the sheet. Maybe even possibly break information up into different tabs.

I would like all setups entered and have as much diversity as possible. Best way to find the common denominator. Breaking some categorize up maybe a bit hard or lengthy and will probably need to use table codes for some things.

That could also work. I can always have the data pulled to other sheets for breakdowns. A lot of learning of more advanced Google sheets I'll have to do lol.

Sounds interesting, but daunting. There's probably 1000 different ways to set things up, and a lot of those are determined by overall tank desires as well.

Exactly. Why I want input and possibly help once I can get it generally started. I will still attempt. I'm also not looking to track people's parameters, just get the stable base line. Out of those thousands we should see trends or balances as the data grows.

Yup. Come up with baselines, as well as expected entry formats and requirements, people hate following rules, but easier to sort/filter when things align. or build dropdowns etc

I have added the initial sheet and did a small population of data to be entered. this has a long way to go and encourage anyone who wants to expand or list more things to know to do so. Currently I would like an ICP list to add that information for those willing to eventually add their ICP test results. maybe even make this a different tab or be able to pull data from the results automatically. That can be figured out down the road
