Al the fish/rock/coral and everything else is already out of the tank. What im wanting to do is either put a ton of citric acid or vinegar to clean out the tank before I remove all of the water so the tank can look new when it gets to it's new home. The last time I did this
i ended up just cleaning everything piece by piece which took forever.

any reasons this would be a bad idea?

A "ton of anything" sounds like a bad idea to me.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
