Well i figured since i like to look at all the jbj tanks, and im waiting on my rodi water to make i would start up a thread. Been lurking on here for a couple weeks getting some good ideas on what everybody was doing. Many thanks to all. You all have saved me money and lots of errors. Picked up a 45 with stand a couple weeks ago on craigslist. Started ordering some stuff and its arriving daily. So far I've got some rock from Billy's reef connection. Nice rock and cheap prices. Dry sand reef grade from caribsea. A couple jebao rw-4's. A tunze 9004 skimmer. A maxspect razor 120w 16000k light.

Like the aquascaping. Great start! Watch the intensity of that light, can burn your livestock IMHO.

That's the truth. Can't believe how bright these lights are. Very happy with these lights so far. Ready to see how I like em when I get some sps in this tank

Finally made enough rodi water to get this thing running. My autoaqua micro ato came in today. Highly recommend as the sensor is about the size of a dime. Seachem matrix and filter pads came in also and went straight to the media baskets. Plan to run cheato in one basket once the tank gets established. Added seachem stability also. Very impressed with the jeabo pumps also. Awesome waves and water movement. Lot of bang for the buck. Need to go get a glass scraper tomorrow. Glass is filthy. Waiting on my power strips to arrive saturday to get all my wiring completed. That's all for today.

I've got the tunze 9004. I went ahead and turned it on tonight to test drive it. I have read its a little loud during the break in period but this thing is silent. Thumbs up from me. Can't wait to get a bio load on it and see what kind of gunk this thing pulls out. I can see it's potential already with how it works with clean water!

They have them at BRS that you can order but it's much cheaper to just buy a screen kit at the hardware store .

I thought this was one of my posts lol. :p
Tank's looking good, love your aquascape! Tunze 9004 will produce watery gunk mostly....mine is still doing it after 6 months of use. By the way, you could have those jebao placed on the back, for a cleaner look. Here's where I've placed mine so that all 3 sides of my tank are cord free.

Ah it looks very professional I thought it was store bought. What's your opinion of the stock glass cover?

Never used it, read that there's to much build up on the glass top, and causes a lot of temperature variation. Really like the screen top better and don't want to jinx myself haven't lost a fish to jumping since. :D

Thanks, I'm happy I found this thread. I really want to get away from the media baskets and go with a sump/refugium and of course about 30 pounds of rocks. I have 60 pounds of Fuji pink live sand now and live rock seeding pukani rock now. Stand is up.
