Hi everyone, my 75 litre nano tank is about a month and a half old, I bought dry rock and I’ve run the Red Sea mature kit to the end. I’ve put brine shrimp in to help kick start the cycling process but they keep disappearing, I must have bought 30 so far and I’ve only 4 left! I do a 10% water change every week and Saturday my nitrite was .1 and my ammonia 0.05 so I’m close to finishing, and I’m adding 1.5ml no pox everyday to bring down the nitrates. Anyone any ideas why I’m killing so many shrimp? My wife’s too embarrassed to go in the fish shop to buy more.

thanks

I would stop using Nopox until later down the road of the tank's maturity. Typically inverts are more sensitive than fish in regards to handling suboptimal parameters. With that in mind, in my opinion, your tanks is still too new and the cycle needs to be finished completely when it comes to inverts. I would wait when introducing any new inverts at the moment.

I would recommend introducing a small piece of live rock to aid in cycling. Best of luck and take it slow. ;)
