OK well before yesterday, I thought that I may have been gouging a little with this one. In fact, yes I'll say it. I have priced this one high, maybe too high even. But when I see an off color scab of the infamous Jawbreaker, no larger than a thumbtack fetch nearly half a grand, well then I guess I don't really feel all that bad about this one.
And no offense to my friend C. Truly. I'm kind of just exploiting your sale little but here, but only in good jest. And I mean that. People are free to sell or spend their money in any way that want. I truly believe that.
So anyway, on to the goug...er.....I...mean....on to this amazing ten pack! And by amazing I mean rare. And by rare, I mean stuff that I do not frag, and some I have not fraged ever. Coral that I am quietly keeping all to myself. Hoarding if you will, repeatedly turning down offers of far more than what these average out to in this pack.
So to the screamers: Yep, some of these are teeny tiny. Totally aware of that, and you don't have to look that hard to see they were cut just before the pic was taken (which was early this week for what it's worth). Feel free to let me have it, if your just disgusted that someone would charge this much for what you see. I can take it. Or at least I'll put on good face while I try to let it bounce off me. Go ahead! Chime in about how crazy things have gotten since the "good ol' days" when we could get a colony for "next to nuthin". And that its people like me that have turned this once pure and well intentioned hobby into a greed driven blood bath, championed by nothing but crooked vultures preying on the deep pocketed naive.
But, here it is. It really comes down to just this. Captive sps, that are not only extra pretty,(or at least have a pretty name) but also coveted my the masses, have value that sometimes exceeds comprehension. The thread I saw yesterday has proven this to me beyond the shadow of a doubt, if you'll pardon the idiom. So look at it this way. For almost half the price of this ten pack you could've picked up a near centimeter high niblet of a frag, that will never look like the pic we all drooled over a couple years ago, but is still somehow coveted tremendous by its name only. And again I'm just having a little fun with this and I have no animosity towards anyone involved in that sale. Maybe deep down I'm just dangerously envious of a brand that can attract that kind of attention, and the only way I an combat it, is with absolute and unrelenting smarm. yeah, must be that.
Ultimately I just want to put this high priced pack into perspective, and give you a perfect excuse to justify opening up that billfold just a little bit wider for this one. If I'm stirring the pot a little too much, and just sound like a moron, then bring on the screamers. Tell me how parlor and gimmicky this all really is, and if you can get all these for lots less, like everyone on FB, then do it. By all means. You see, the thing about forums is that you have to stay relevant somehow. And if I've managed to keep your attention through all of this drivel and up till this moment, then I have succeeded in that at the very least. I don't really put too much thought into these write ups, more off the cuff freewheeling then power prose. But realize this, 1000.00 even, still sits all of these frags cozily at less than 100.00 each. I've been offered three times that for the cyclops alone, believe it or not. More than once. So blah blah blah. Blah blah bah blah....
