I would not consider bring back any items that may be or may harbor potentially invasive species.
Never know what might be the next coral pest on a chunk of live rock or next cudzu or emerald ash borer hiding in a straw hat.

Would also wash everything as soon as I got back even if it was already clean just in case.

I would not want it on my conscious if something like those got back to the mainland because of my actions.

The problem with bringing anything back is you might trigger the next 'snakehead' scare. It is now a constant fight to keep the government from destroying the aquarium hobby by banning all species not native to the good ol' US of A. Don't need to give them anymore ammunition.
