Brittle Star Never Moves

I've got a really big brittle star that came in a live rock rock recently. It has to be about 6-8 inches from 1 arm tip to another. It's been in my tank for about 2 weeks now and I've never noticed it leaving its hiding spot.

I can see it laying flat between a rock and the back wall. I've poked it with my coral feeding forceps occasionally to make sure it's still alive and it curls up when to touch it. I just don't think it's ever left that spot, though.

Is that unusual or is that just how they live?

That is how they live. Some are nocturnal. Most don't move unless they sense food.

Mine only comes out at night
