Hi All,

I have what may seem a strange question. How to I get rid of Zoa from my reef tank?

Two years ago I added a piece of live rock that had a handfull of a brown zoa. I thought this was great! Now it is spreading across my entire reef tank and choking other corals. :( If I don't control this soon I will have a take full of nothing but this pesky coral.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Try injecting them with kalk paste. I've had about 50% success in killing zoas that way. Wait a couple of days, and any that survive, kalk 'em again.

Hey RJP welcome to CZ and sorry for your problem. Are you able to remove the rock? If so you could scrape them from the mat off of the rock.

Welcome to Club-zoa RJP! I would try using a pair of tweezers and just go to town and rip them off the rock. Thats usually what I do when I want to get rid of something. I have some protopalys that are like weeds. Everytime I do a waterchange I find some growing in places that I dont want so I just rip them out with tweezers.
