I ordered one just wanted to see if they were decent !!

The BRS refractometers are very accurate and should serve you well :) Just make sure to check calibration every so often with the included calibration solution to avoid any issues!

IME they are good, I have one. I would calibrate it before each use they are easy to read and calibrate. You do have to keep the prism clean, I would clean with RO/DI after each use. I would also recommend that after 6months-1year that you replace the calibration fluid. My 2cents.

I have the BRS refractometer. I find it holds the calibration very well. I check the calibration every so often and so far it has held steady. As a tip, it is easier to read acurately if it is pointed at a pretty bright light source.

+1 to what @PatW said, bright light is a big help. And I found it to hold calibration well also. I was just anal because I had a crash after using hydrometers. It's an important piece of equipment and BRS's is quality.
