I was using ESV 2-Part and when dosed the alkalinity would mix pretty evenly when it hit the tank water. I have switched to BRS Soda Ash and noticed that when dosed, it is more chunky and doesn't seem to disperse in the water as well as the ESV alkalinity.

If I mix a batch of BRS Soda Ash to half strength then double the dose, would that help with getting the Soda Ash to disperse better in the water column?

The two products are very similar with ESV being a bit more potent, but it also has some other stuff in the alk part that might also impact the local magnesium hydroxide precipitation.

You can dilute either product as much as you want. That may help, but higher flow or slower dosing may also work,
