BRS Universal Carbon Block

I don't think it's that big of a problem. I've already converted several stages to granular carbon. I think the resistance of the membrane and flow restrictor would counteract it.
Channeling is actually more of a problem at low flow rates. I was advised against using a large floor standing carbon tank for this reason.

But to your point, it’s so much cheaper you could afford to replace more frequently and still be ahead.

The problem with loose/catalytic carbon is channeling.

Nice, that’s a better price than Chlorplus or Chloraguard.

I am converting my unit to 20” filters and using Neo Pure Chloramine blocks. On paper should lower operating costs and replacement frequency substantially.
Do you have a BRS RODI? How are you doing that?

I started switching over last season (winter is when my RO filter does double duty to produce humidifier water). If chlorine breakthrough occurs noticeably sooner then it should be noticeable. I don't keep any formal usage logs but I suppose I could start.

And now that I've thought about it more, I'm thinking about some 3D printed geometries I could add so they're not just straight columns of carbon.

I’ve been thinking about making this move.
