Just out of curiosity, if you were to run your finger through the cluster of "branches" are they firm or somewhat yielding?

Hmm. IME it's always been very soft to the touch. (yielding) I guess will have to see what the OP says.

I started dosing h202 3% & 3ml a day and so far I lost a clown fish so far and left with my six line wrasse, I don't wanna dose that any more don't wanna lose my wrasse

Edit: reason for me dosing 3mls a day is cause I'm trying to battle cyano which is working but I lost a fish in the process

i did pluck it off, got most of it off aswell didnt add any h202 yet
