My BTA just split. Half of it is where it always was and the other half is hiding under a rock a few inches away. Is this normal? I can’t imagine it needs to acclimate since it was part of the larger host. Does it need to heal? Color looks good, everything else seems fine just settled in a weird spot the last few days. It split on Sunday morning.

You are fine, just leave it alone and do not feed either if you feed until healed up. I have had many settle in strange spots after a split and 98% of the time they will move somewhere better when they are ready.

Most of these are splits that hid at first too...

Allow 72-96 hours before attempting to feed. They will heal and function as normal

It's a green with orange tips... I just went to take another picture and it was hiding must have known we were talking about it.
