Hi so someone once told me that if I put a BTA on a rock “island” it won’t venture across the sand and try and get to my main rockwork, is this true ?

I bought one about 9 mos ago, and he parked in a perfect spot. Then it grew pretty big and went on the move this past month, then split this weekend and the split took the original spot. They seem to like caverns in the rock work and medium light..

Def not true about trying to isolate them, I wish, but BTAs will go anywhere. I have 3 that decided they like it most just sticking high up on the backwall glass. And oddly enough, the batch of young clowns that I recently bought are finding those three nems to be the most interesting so far.

Nems don't always walk. They can puff up like water balloons, detach and float away. My BTA, hadonni and riterri have done it.
I have an LTA that stayed at one end of the tank for awhile, then floated to the other end, then back to the original end, and then back to the other end, where it stayed. :)

Congrats on the split!
