Bubble coral deflated

For some reason, my bubble coral has been starting to deflate at a pretty fast rate. Does anyone know what is happening? The lights are still at max intensity.

I've had mine for over 6 years. It will deflate from time to time. As long as it's not withdrawing into the skeleton and does inflate I would consider it normal.

There is also some brown string hanging off of the coral. Is it just poop?

What’s the best way to evaluate the health of a bubble coral at an LFS? Any wisdom or tricks to share?
I’m interested in buying one and am a little nervous about vetting a potential frag,
