I am running a Bubble Magus C9 in my sump for my system and have been fighting a foaming issue. I have tried skimming wetter and just can't get this thing to quit. It has been in service for about 3 months now so I know it's not the "breakin" period. I am also running the automatic skimmer neck cleaner. Anyone else have this issue with this skimmer? If so, what did you do to fix it? Attached is a pic of what I'm dealing with.

I have tried everything that I could think of without any good results until recently. I have read that excess foam is normal when carbon dosing (I am running bio pellets). I got to thinking about what could possibly be done to collapse the foam in the collection cup without collapsing in the skimmer. I ended up putting one drop of canola oil into the bottom of the collection cup and boom, problem solved. Getting nice dark skim mate without having the excess of foam overflowing the cup. Anyone ever tried this before?
