Trying to decide between the B Magus Curve 7 and R Octopus Int 150. This will be going in a 30g Trigger sump, 150g medium bioload display, mixed reef. They are both around the same price. I currently have a Curve 5 on another system, but think this will be underrated for a 180g system. The B Magus performs great but wanted input on which brand is preferred by those that have used them. The only flaw I see with the Magus is the flow adjustment, it is a bit difficult to make small adjustments to it.

I think the 150 will be a little under powered imo. I’m looking at getting that for my 90. My RO eSsence 130 isn’t cutting it anymore.

I am also a fan of reef octopus. I have seen a lot of successful tanks running them and the quality is great. I ordered a 250 int that didn't fit when I was doing my build and bought the 250 ext both looked to be great quality. I now am running the ext and that varios pump they use is a beast! Excuse the mess in the pic I am still under construction [emoji2]

I bought the same sump and I’m planning on using it for an sca 90 cube. Have you considered the vertex omega 180l? That’s what I want to go with

7 years with a SRO5009 ext and no problems at all. I did upgrade it to a varios 6 DC pump though.

magnus for sure, i have had nothing but problems with octo

In the short time I have had the curve 5 on a fish only 125g system, it has been really good. I am setting up a 180g mixed reef and am hoping that a curve 7 can keep up. I plan on having it connected to an additional waste container.

Good to hear, I am considering the 150, as I like the valve adjustment on it and have read many good reviews. Decisions to be made..$$
