Bubble Problem!!

Hello all, I'm brand new to the hobby. I have a brand new 25 gal nano with hob equipment. My problem is the water level is far enough below the Fluval filter return that it causes bubbles to be formed and pushed into the water column. I don't want to raise the water level any more than its current height. I was thinking of maybe gluing some acrylic or something onto the return to make a sort of water "ramp" so that the water doesn't just shoot down. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!! Why don’t you want to raise it

Well, the water is already within an 1 inch to 1.5 in from the rim of the glass. In order to raise it up to the level of the fluval return, the water level would be within a half inch from the rim. That's a little close for comfort for me. What if I add a rock, or what if I have to put my arm all the way in to the bottom one day or what if (God forbid) my Auto topoff doesn't shutoff like it's suppose to?

Welcome to the reef! I would add a little more water to see what happens. Then decide if other changes need to be made.

The way it is now actually looks low. If you add things or remove th8ngs easy enough to adjust the level. They were designed to return to the aquarium at a certain height.

Agreed. Raise the water level. The HOB return is meant to push water across the surface or ripple the water top to oxygenate the water. It is this surface rippling or breaking of the water seal in many places that allows sufficient oxygen to enter the water for the fish. :)

So I raised the water level and it definitely helped. Also, I turned the filter flow down a bit.

As for ATO overflow... get a leak detector! Best money I’ve spent in a while. Rocks and arms.... go slowly!
