Hi everyone! Just have my first question on here.my bta that i have had is closed up and looks like a ****! My water is ph 8.3 nitrates 7ppm calcium 430 ppm alkalinity 10 everything is good and everyone is happy along with my mini carpet lights are an ecoray 60d amd are 18inches above the water line on a 24 gal jbj.my flow is on the lowest setting of an mp10. Could someone please tell me what might be going on?! Thanks

They do that randomly from time to time and are better the next. As long as they stay attached to the rock, they are happy. Chances are tomorrow it will look like normal

Yea they do this when they are pooping, or just randomly. I would try to get those nitrates down to 0ppm.

Agreed, I just added 2 BTA's last week, 1 will shrivel up completely and look like it's dying while the other 1 right next to it looks great. 3 hours later vice versa.....also agree about getting the nitrates down as well.
