I shut down my tank long time ago and sold all the livestock to the top end lfs at the time for in store credit.

I got back into the hobby couple years ago with a fluval flex 9g. Let that go.
1 yr later i.got this custom tank and did this in the last year. Lol. Gha I got yes. Its not receding with the good cuc and flipping the rocks over.
Lol.
Even with the Kelvin burnt out bulbs im doing it baby. Lol.

I remember the custom tank, fish, coral than GHA. So everything lived just needed a CUC?

Ya I just needed a good cuc and got rid of the humu humu triggerfish. Things have been looking good.
No sps or really lps corals but I have live rock and lots of soft coral. Sea fans. Gorgangians. Ect.
No chemicals. No wcs. Only the cuc and manual pulling. It doesn't grow back fast as the cuc is consuming it. Lol. Im happy actually.

Can't wait to try the waveboxes.
My prior stint in the hobby way back before I shut down...I was cheaper with equipment. I had a baby and a house and a lady so I didn't really Spurg on myself or the equipment I bought. It was either used. Old. Or sub par meaning underpowered. Lol.

Spent most of my $ at the time on the livestock and actually trying to get nice tanks and furniture to accommodate. Not this time.

Remember now the other item i needed. Either a new impeller for the sicce 1000 or a whole new pump or an upgraded 1200 sicce for the skimmer.
Its currently running with a 600 impeller and is actually skimming. Lol.

Lol 09, yea if I started in 09 my tank would have been all used equipment as well. God knows I was broke in 09 lol.

When I decided to do all soft corals I stopped dosing. Only recently have I done a cpl doses of 5ml I think... twice now over 2 days. Gonna test here soon to see where my alks at.

Now I got to look up how to make alk… I didn’t know you could. Something new everyday.

Ya I think randy has his own baking powder mix. Recipe. The brs stuff i think is just baked in the oven. Lol.
Mix it with 1g of rodi. Way cheaper than the pre mix stuff off the shelf.

I run a FOWLR tank and the thing hasn’t seen a dose of anything or WC in at least 6 months. Just filter sock changes. Bought a skimmer because I feel like I am doing bad husbandry, now I just need to set it up.

Didn’t realize you could do the same with soft coral, I had sps in my other tank almost right off the bat.

So the someone drilled holes and I had to do some reef work on it and plug them with coral and glue. Lol.
Next up is install.

Ok on initial set up.
Works well. Loud as my mp40 maybe.
Big. Bulky.
I will say that.
Gonna judge again after I get my other one cuz I'm judging one wavebox vs. 2 pumps. Gonna let this run.

Some coral opened up. Some closed but are now opening... maybe 15mins in.
