Has anyone here built a rimless ? I want build a 70 g rimless 30"l x 24" x 24" tall and could use some assembly advice. Just not as much on you tube as I had hoped for in this area. My next project after completion if all goes well ,I may even risk a 150g rimless.

The only tank build I did was a 23 g frag tank, the only think i can add use the HD $8 silicone GE from the acrylic section at HD its the best and i am using it for years.

I built my 50 ( 30" x 20" x20" x 3/8" ).
Use momentive rtv 108 or 103. The 103 is the black adhesive, which I used.
Get help. I wish I had someone with at the time.
Where ever you decide to get your glass, go with polished and beveled edges. It may add cost, but it is so worth it.

Also FWIW to help you out with the build I would make yourself a "jig" by making a frame from wood that's interior dimensions are the EXACT outer dimensions of the tank you want to build, this way you can place your glass inside the frame and you can clamp each piece of glass to the framework to hold it up and allow you to silicone the entire tank without anything possibly moving or wiggling on you and everything will be securely clamped in place until it dries

I hope I explained it well enough, but if I didn't just shoot me a PM and I will be glad to answer any questions you have that I am able to answer

Keep us updated and document this if you do!

I use the actual Aqueon Aquarium Silicone. 100% safe and works great. Like $10 for a 10 oz tube.

You don't need alot of pressure to hold the panes. Blue painters tape works just fine as you don't want to push the silicone out of the seal. You want silicone in between not glass on glass. That wouldn't work out too well. I just got my glass sanded but not polished. Probably should have had it done but oh well. Still looks great.

Ok apparently all my files are to lare to upload , any ideas
