Like the title says, I am getting a 24", 4-24 watt t5 fixture soon for my feed\frag tank. I will be keeping all my LE chalices and acans in a tank that is 20x16x6.I plumbed this into my DT that is lit by 2-250 watt 14k phoenix and 4-65 watt Pc's from current.Alot of the stuff will be going from the DT to this little feed box. Will the 4 bulb t5 be sufficient or should I go with a single pendant MH?Also what is the best bulb combo color for growth?
Thanks for all info.

6 inches deep? Yeh 4 bulbs would be PLENTY. Depends how far you will keep it from the surface...since you're keeping lower light stuff there I would be careful and slow with the light adjustments. If you go with t5's depending on what look you want, I'd try either 3 ATI Blue Plus and 1 growth bulb (GE 6500k or a UV/ATI 10k), or 2 ATI Blue PLus, 1 UV 75/25 or Actinic White and a growth bulb

Yeah its held up by the 2x4 and then a 2x4 frame which is anchored into the wall with 6 inch tapcons and then anchored to the stand as well.It is only around 7 gallons, should be fine.I weigh about 190 and it held me.:)

haha oh whew I was wondering what was going on..

Id do 3 blue +'s and 1 aquasun...

And for the above poster what exactly do you mean by a growth bulb? Are you saying blue +'s are not a growth bulb? If so believe it or not the + puts out about the same PAR or maybe more as say a GE 6500K...

Nah I just got it balancing there, that way when it starts to lean I know the tanks getting out of balance. Thanks for the opinions BN

Or you could do 3 blue + and 1 fiji purple but I think the fiji might overpower the other bulbs.....

And your welcome

All blue pluse. i have a 6 bulb and run 5 blue pluse and one fiji and get nice growth.

Hey there, yeh I know the Blue+ has really high PAR, but it's in a different wavelength/spectrums than the typical "growth" bulbs that are in the 6-10k range. Even though the Blue pluses have high PAR, the 6-10k bulbs will produce more growth.

Since you're going for growth (I missed it since I read it your 1st post real quick), I'd do 2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 GE 6500k, and 1 Actinic White. If you have Powerbrite blue leds, use those as added supplements if you like.
